Bio

Nathan Ringkamp (b. 2001) is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma in Organ Performance with Jean-Baptiste Robin, organist of the Royal Chapel of Versailles, at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Versailles in Versailles, France, with the premier scholarship from the Boston-based Frank Huntington Beebe Fund for Musicians. He pursues additional studies in organ improvisation with David Cassan, titular organist at Saint-Étienne-du-Mont. While pursuing his studies in France, Nathan has been featured in collaborative recitals in the Royal Chapel of Versailles, Notre-Dame des Armées in Versailles, and Église Saint-Severin in Paris for the Île-de-France Regional Conservatories student performance.

 

A recent graduate of the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland, with the J.W. Lewis Performance Award, Nathan received his Master of Music degree in organ performance with the acclaimed organist and pedagogue Dr. John Walker in 2025. 

 

Nathan began organ lessons in the summer months of 2019 before initially enrolling as an engineering student at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Changing his major to organ in the spring of 2020, he earned his Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance in 2023 after studying organ with Benjamin LaPrairie and improvisation with Ronald Stolk. 

 

While at both Catholic University and Peabody, Nathan played for various liturgies at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception including Catholic University Masses broadcasted on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), the installation ceremony of the University’s 16th president, the 2023 graduating class’s Baccalaureate Mass, the University’s annual Christmas Concert for Charity, ordinations, pilgrimages, and, after becoming an Assisting Organist in 2023, assists with Daily Masses and Sunday Masses. 

He previously served as Principal Organist at Saint Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church in Southwest D.C.; Director of Music and Organist at the National Shrine of Saint Alphonsus Liguori in Baltimore, Maryland; and Interim Director of Music and Organist at Zion Lutheran Church, also in Baltimore. 

 

In 2024, he received the second-place prize in the Albert Schweitzer Young Professional Organ Competition as well as the Peabody Conservatory’s Donald S. Sutherland Endowed Organ Scholarship. He has been a solo recitalist at the Basilica of the National Shrine, the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land, and the Cathedral of Saint Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D.C., and Christ Church Christiana Hundred in Wilmington, Delaware. He has also participated in masterclasses with Olivier Houette, Martin Jean, Isabel Demers, Felix Hell, Paul Jacobs, Jonathan Moyer, and David Hurd. When not in the organ loft, Nathan enjoys photography, biking, golfing, traveling, and visiting family in his hometown of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.

Studied organ with Dr. John Walker on topics including the interpretation of all genres of organ repertoire, hymn/service accompaniment, figured bass, part reading, and AGO exam qualifications.

The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.

Studied a wide range of repertoire with Benjamin LaPrairie and improvisational skills with Ronald Stolk. Accompanied Campus Ministry Masses in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
